Contribution to Society
Follow up research on Vortex firms outlined in the management bestseller
Built to Last found that firms with a vortex structure "significantly
outperform comparison companies on social measures of community relations,
employee relations, product, diversity and overall corporate social performance."
That is to say, Vortex firms made a greater contribution to society than
similar companies focused on profit alone.
